God wants us to say yes to Him. To fully submit to Him. Think of Mary saying yes to the strange message of the angel. she said yes even knowing others would not understand and there would be shame and gossip before she would see the fruit of her yes.

Luke 1:38

[38] And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

Esther said yes and submitted to risking her life to save the Jewish people from destruction. She submitted to God’s plan though her own life was in peril.

Hannah prayed and pleaded with God for a child yet she said yes to giving him to serve as a child at God’s temple. Before she sent Samuel to serve God she trained him to hear and respond to God so he heard when God called him as a young boy in the night. Her yes led to him being a prophet who anointed Israel’s first two kings.

Ruth said yes and submitted to Naomi’s instruction to glean in Boaz fields. She ended up marrying Boaz and being in the lineage of the Messiah.

Today we say yes by not following the self glory and chaos of society and instead strive to live at peace with all men. We say yes to dying to self and submission to God given authorities. We say yes to preferring one another. We say yes to humility over self promotion. We say yes to training our children in the Word. We say yes to godly submission not feminism and self exaltation. We say yes to ministry over high paying jobs, prestige and wealth. We say yes to entertaining strangers knowing some have entertained angels unaware. We see the fruits of our godly yeses and are amazed and blessed. While the world says yes to self and desires and then pays the consequence.

Saying yes to God, to humility and obedience to Him out of love and honor, saying yes to desire to glorify God alone in all I say or do all brings about personal revival and transformation. May I gladly say yes to all He calls me to with a humble and God-dependent heart.
